Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Cost Estimator to play a pivotal role in our ambitious projects. This individual will be responsible for performing detailed project analysis, preparing cost estimates, coordinating with vendors and subcontractors, and engaging in client interactions. The successful candidate will also contribute to value engineering by identifying cost-saving opportunities and ensuring the competitive and accurate submission of bids and proposals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Analysis: Conduct thorough reviews of project plans, specifications, and documents to grasp project requirements and scope effectively.
  • Cost Estimation: Prepare precise cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services based on project specs and historical data.
  • Vendor and Subcontractor Coordination: Solicit, assess, and review quotes from vendors and subcontractors, ensuring both competitiveness and accuracy.
  • Value Engineering: Seek out and recommend cost-saving opportunities and value-engineering solutions that do not compromise quality or integrity.
  • Bid Preparation: Develop and submit comprehensive, competitive bids and proposals to clients.
  • Client Interaction: Work closely with clients to resolve queries, concerns, and requests for clarification on proposals.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed and accurate records of estimates, bids, and project-related documentation.


  • Proven experience in cost estimating within multifamily housing, adult congregate living facilities, hotels, student housing, senior living projects, and light industrial sectors. Experience in large-scale solar projects is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Strong familiarity with the National Electrical Code and the New York State Building Code is essential, as our projects often involve design-build components.
  • A 2/4 year college degree is preferred, but extensive experience in the above-noted fields may be considered in lieu of formal education.
