Process Control Engineer

Mission/Summary: As a Process Control Engineer, you play a pivotal role in managing our control system equipment and software to optimize our operational processes. Collaborate closely with various departments to craft control strategies, enhance existing systems, and troubleshoot equipment issues ensuring seamless operation within specified parameters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement innovative process control strategies for both continuous and batch processes.
  • Develop and enhance Human-Machine Interface (HMI) systems.
  • Conduct performance monitoring of control systems, including loop analysis and tuning.
  • Pioneer the integration of new control system technologies.
  • Lead process troubleshooting efforts to pinpoint and address sources of disruptions.
  • Create and maintain robust alarm systems.
  • Spearhead capital projects from justification to execution, particularly those focusing on process controls.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient operation of the process control systems.



  • Strong foundation in industrial process knowledge.
  • Proficient in instrumentation and electrical systems related to process control.
  • Excellent computer proficiency, especially in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint).
  • Skilled in data analysis and familiar with process data historians (e.g., OSI PI, Capstone ParcView).
  • Ability to understand and generate P&ID drawings, loop sheets, and motor elementaries using AutoCAD or similar tools.


  • 3 to 8 years of experience in process control, with a comprehensive understanding of Distributed Control Systems (DCS), preferably Honeywell Experion or TDC.
  • Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), such as Allen Bradley ControlLogix, is a plus.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Pulp/Paper Science) required.
