Maintenance Manager

Position Overview: We are seeking a seasoned Maintenance Manager to lead our maintenance department with visionary leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement. This role offers the unique opportunity to contribute to the success and efficiency of our operations, ensuring the reliability and functionality of our equipment and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Forge strong communication channels with the Stock Prep operational leader, ensuring cohesive teamwork and operational efficiency.
  • Provide direct supervision, technical guidance, administrative management, and leadership to maintenance supervisors, planners, millwrights, and electricians.
  • Champion the management of departmental equipment and overall maintenance strategies, enhancing equipment reliability, uptime, and cost effectiveness.
  • Spearhead maintenance and capital programs, focusing on predictive, preventative, and corrective maintenance approaches.
  • Apply reliability engineering, root-cause analysis, and troubleshooting methods to improve equipment and process operations.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive training plans for hourly maintenance staff, boosting skill levels, and promoting a learning culture.
  • Engage actively in plant safety, housekeeping, and continuous improvement initiatives, modeling best practices and compliance.

Qualifications:

Required Experience:

  • Proficiency in Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), specifically in the use and implementation of such systems. SAP experience highly regarded.
  • Established background in planning and scheduling within a maintenance context.
  • Solid experience with Preventative, Predictive, and Precision Maintenance methodologies.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent professional experience (5-10 years) in maintenance roles.

Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to identify improvement opportunities and successfully implement changes.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, capable of organizing tasks and engaging with all organizational levels.
  • Prior environmental experience is a plus.
  • Expertise in equipment servicing, maintenance planning/scheduling, and process control is essential.
  • Strong project management, industrial engineering, cost analysis, and employee relations skills are required, with an ability to work effectively in a unionized environment.
  • Advanced troubleshooting abilities.
