Job Overview:

Join a leading innovator in digital imaging solutions as a Field Technical Engineer within our Semiconductor division. We are looking for a dedicated professional to provide exceptional customer support through onsite installations, intricate repairs, and meticulous maintenance of semiconductor process equipment. This role is pivotal in ensuring minimal equipment downtime and fostering strong customer relationships through expert technical assistance.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular monitoring, inspection, setup, calibration, and maintenance of semiconductor process equipment.
  • Educate customers on system equipment operation and maintenance to enhance their proficiency.
  • Act as the primary company liaison for assigned projects, focusing on installations and significant component replacements.
  • Independently perform complex repair maintenance or unit replacement following factory protocols.
  • Offer prompt technical support, addressing operational procedures, equipment malfunctions, and other technical queries to reduce downtime.
  • Identify and communicate equipment errors and performance issues to support troubleshooting and maintenance efforts.
  • Document activities meticulously and provide regular reports on status and progress.
  • Deliver comprehensive training to customer personnel on service and operations.
  • Collaborate with fellow technicians to troubleshoot and service equipment effectively.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience (technical training, military training, or technical school).
  • At least 3 years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing equipment or a related field.
  • Proficiency in the Linux operating system.
  • Demonstrable mechanical skills and experience with electronic testing tools.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively under pressure.
  • Desirable additional experience includes optics, lasers, software, robotics, precision mechanics, or chemistry.
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Prior customer support experience is advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel and adapt to flexible schedules; both domestic and international travel may be required.
  • Physical ability to lift at least 25lbs and perform various physical activities as described.
