Key Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair facility electrical systems including large, complex components with voltages ranging from 120V to 12,470V.
• Evaluate isolated power and ground systems to ensure high performance and regulatory compliance.
• Perform electrical installations, emergency repairs, preventative maintenance, and ensure compliance with state electrical codes.
• Use advanced diagnostic tools to assess power quality under dynamic load conditions.
• Develop and maintain systems for efficient utility management across facilities.
• Train and mentor team members, sharing updates on best practices and industry trends.
• Document essential records, such as work orders, blueprints, and manuals.
• Assist in building maintenance and machinery repair using precision tools.
• Research and recommend new technologies or strategies to enhance facility operations.

Required Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Vocational or trade school graduates with electrical maintenance specialization preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years as a licensed electrician.
• Licensure: Journeyman’s or Master’s Electrical License required; a valid Virginia Driver’s License preferred for some roles.
• Skills:
  • Deep knowledge of state electrical codes and hospital/commercial occupancies.
  • Familiarity with isolated ground systems, harmonics, voltage fluctuations, and diagnostics.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency in computerized work order systems and maintaining accurate records.
  • Ability to travel to other facilities as needed and operate during emergency conditions.
