Join our team as an HVAC & Refrigeration Specialist in Roanoke, Virginia, where you’ll maintain, troubleshoot, and repair complex facility systems, including HVAC, refrigeration, and Building Automation Systems (BAS). With a Monday-Friday schedule and opportunities for overtime, this role is perfect for an expert ready to lead specialty projects while working with cutting-edge equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform, troubleshoot, repair, and install HVAC & R systems, BAS systems, and equipment across large and complex facilities.
• Oversee and inspect work orders, preventatives, emergency repairs, and ensure compliance with all relevant codes and regulations.
• Conduct and manage routine maintenance schedules to guarantee system performance and longevity.
• Program or modify BAS functionality to optimize equipment efficiency and perform data analysis.
• Inspect and service electrical and mechanical equipment using tools, diagrams, and manufacturer specifications.
• Lead initiatives to develop efficient utility control systems and provide technical assistance to teams for timely project completion.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation, including blueprints, work orders, and instructional manuals.
• Train and update team members on technical advances, compliance standards, and department capabilities.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Trade or vocational school with coursework in HVAC & R maintenance or related technical field preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of five years in commercial or healthcare HVAC & R maintenance.
• Certifications: Appropriate level CFC Certification required. Virginia Driver’s License preferred; required for property maintenance positions.
• Other Skills:
  • Strong understanding of BAS programming and automated building controls.
  • Familiarity with relevant codes for healthcare and commercial facilities.
  • Effective teamwork and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using computerized work order systems.
  • Ability to follow instructions, maintain records, and work independently under variable conditions.

Job requires emergency personnel availability during weather events. Travel between facility locations may be necessary.
