Director of Patient Access

  • Oversee the daily operations of all patient access functions, serving as the liaison between the Shared Services Center (SSC) and the facility.
  • Integrate departmental services with the hospital’s primary functions, develop and implement policies and procedures, and assess and enhance department performance.
  • Act as a key promoter of Shared Services, ensuring the delivery of superior customer service.
  • Supervise facility operations of Patient Access functions, including pre-registration, benefit verification, pre-authorization, admission/registration, and service pre-payment, to maintain daily operations according to established standards.
  • Model AIDET guidelines in all patient interactions, ensuring staff adherence to patient experience expectations and promoting excellent customer service.
  • Review Patient Access performance to ensure timeliness, accuracy, compliance, and standards fulfillment in accordance with SSC Service Level Agreements.
  • Stay informed about regulatory requirements and company compliance policies, providing timely staff education on any changes or developments.
  • Actively seek opportunities to control costs and improve processes while maintaining patient safety and the quality of care.

Who Will Be a Great Fit?  

  • 5+ years of healthcare management experience, with at least three years in a patient access leadership role.
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred, but the degree requirement can be waived if currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program with SSC Executive leadership approval.
  • Must have experience in a large hospital setting.
