As a Registered Nurse (RN) in our Labor & Delivery unit, you will serve as the advocate for patients and their families. Applying the nursing process, critical thinking, scientific judgment, technical skills, and leadership, you will autonomously provide safe nursing care. Collaborating with the patient care team, you will work towards achieving high-quality patient outcomes. Effective communication, interpersonal skills, and modeling confidence and professionalism within the nursing field are essential. Additionally, you will demonstrate teamwork, adaptability, and act as a valuable resource for the patient care team.
Assessment: Conduct comprehensive, timely, and ongoing physical, psychosocial, and pain assessments, including patient education needs. Planning: Use assessments to identify problems, make nursing diagnoses, and formulate individualized plans of care with goals, teaching plans, and outcomes. Consider patient goals, readiness to learn, and involve the family in the care plan. Implementation: Prioritize and implement a competent, efficient nursing plan of care. Evaluation/Reassessment: Consistently conduct timely evaluations, anticipate changes in patient conditions, recognize the need for reassessments, and adjust the plan of care accordingly. Compare expected and achieved outcomes using the plan of care.
