Clinical RN Supervisor

Type: Contract, Full-Time (36 Hours), 3 Days Per Week, 12 Hours Per Day

Shifts: D/N Rotations, EOW, and Holiday, Flexible Schedules

About the Role: As a Clinical RN Supervisor, you will coordinate clinical activities throughout the acute care setting on evening, night, weekend, and holiday shifts. Providing clinical leadership and assistance to nurses, you will play a crucial role in planning, organizing, evaluating, and delivering nursing care to patients of all age groups. This position involves collaboration with Nurse Managers, off-site Clinical Leaders, and unit staff nurses to ensure staffing levels align with patient acuities. Additionally, you will support nurses in managing emergency clinical and administrative situations, facilitate competency assessments, and contribute to staff development.

  • Provide coaching and mentoring to staff
  • Ensure staff accountability for professional practice
  • Collaborate with Nursing Leadership and stakeholders to problem-solve
  • Respond to customer complaints in a timely manner
  • Maintain accountability for the clinical application of standards and protocols
  • Serve as a link between off-shift/weekend staff and Nursing leadership
  • Apply sound decision-making principles to prioritize patient care needs
  • Allocate resources for efficient, safe, and compassionate nursing care
  • Address occupational exposure to blood-borne pathogens

Who Will Be a Great Fit?   

  • NYS RN Licensure
  • Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, CPI certification within 90 days of hire
  • 3 years acute care experience as a Registered Nurse
  • 1 year leadership experience at the Charge Nurse level
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact positively with the healthcare team, physicians, and the general public
  • Critical care experience Preferred
