Are you an experienced technician with a passion for electrical controls and system integration? Join our team as a Lighting Control Systems Technician and play a vital role in the start-up, commissioning, and maintenance of cutting-edge lighting control systems across New England. This position combines technical expertise, hands-on problem-solving, and customer engagement, allowing you to work on innovative projects while training end-users and collaborating closely with our internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform start-up reviews of project documentation and ensure the proper implementation of lighting control schemes based on specifications.
- Commission lighting control systems and provide superior field technical support to ensure seamless functionality and compliance with project designs.
- Troubleshoot and manage integration with BAS/AV systems, addressing and resolving issues as they arise.
- Serve as a subject matter expert by mentoring and providing support to internal colleagues.
- Collaborate with building owners, managers, electrical contractors, and integration technicians to address technical concerns tied to lighting control operations.
- Update, revise, and maintain control-related design drawings and documentation for use in final project deliverables.
- Liaise with the manufacturer's engineering team to resolve field-based technical challenges and relay solutions to clients.
- Work with project managers and engineering teams to suggest product enhancements and improvements.
- Conduct comprehensive control training sessions in both classroom and job site settings for internal and external audiences.
- Travel within the New England market to deliver exceptional technical support and training.
Qualifications
- Education in Electrical, Electronics, HVAC, or a related field through a Vocational High School or equivalent degree program.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience with electrical controls; Tridium Niagara Certification is required.
- Possession of an OSHA 30 Certification card.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record for travel purposes.
Skills and Abilities
- Proficiency in networking systems, including routers, hubs, and LAN lines.
- Advanced knowledge of BACnet and TCP/IP devices on the Tridium Niagara platform.
- Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and time-management abilities.
- Highly detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Skilled in customer service with the ability to work collaboratively in team environments.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, networking, and programmable logic software systems.
