Senior Electrical Hardware Engineer – Embedded Systems & FPGA

Are you ready to play a pivotal role in developing next-generation embedded processing, sensor, and actuator systems? As a Senior Electrical Hardware Engineer, you’ll join an elite electronics division in Cambridge, MA, where innovation meets mission-critical applications. You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on 12–18 month R&D programs that integrate cutting-edge computing, sensor hardware, and embedded platforms for real-world impact.


Key Responsibilities

  • Translate system requirements into robust electronic hardware architectures.

  • Design and develop complex PCBs integrating FPGAs, SoCs, high-speed interfaces, and power systems.

  • Build, test, and debug electronic prototypes with minimal oversight.

  • Create manufacturing documentation and provide post-production support.

  • Lead and mentor team members across multiple engineering disciplines.

  • Contribute to business development and support proposal writing.

  • Drive innovation by researching new technologies and enabling unique design solutions.

  • Manage tasks across functional teams and effectively communicate project status.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred).

  • 5–10 years of experience in electrical hardware design.

  • Strong background in digital circuit design using COTS FPGAs, processors, and SoCs.

  • Proficiency with Siemens Designer/Layout, HyperLynx, Ansys, SPICE, and MATLAB.

  • Experience with:

    • DDR3/DDR4, PCIe, Gbit serial interfaces.

    • Power integrity and conditioning for digital PCB systems.

    • Mixed-signal sensor interfaces and miniature packaging techniques.

    • Basic firmware understanding (C/C++/Assembly, VHDL/Verilog) to support system integration.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and time management.

  • Ability to lead projects and mentor junior staff.

  • Capable of solving complex technical problems independently.
