Position Overview
As Trauma Program Director, you'll oversee all aspects of our trauma program, ensuring compliance with Virginia Department of Health standards while driving operational excellence, clinical outcomes, and program growth. This role combines clinical leadership, program management, and strategic planning to maintain our center's prestigious trauma designation.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct all trauma program operations, including clinical protocols, quality metrics, and performance improvement initiatives
- Lead ACS verification processes and maintain compliance with state/federal regulatory requirements
- Oversee trauma registry operations and data management to drive evidence-based improvements
- Develop and implement trauma education programs for staff and community stakeholders
- Manage multidisciplinary relationships with physicians, EMS, and hospital leadership
- Drive research initiatives and quality improvement projects
- Supervise trauma program staff and coordinate cross-departmental trauma care
- Serve as trauma program ambassador in community and professional organizations
Required Qualifications
- BSN required (MSN preferred)
- Current Virginia RN license
- Minimum 3 years leadership experience in Trauma, Emergency, or Critical Care
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC
- CEN or CCRN certification (required within 2 years)
- Proven experience in trauma program management and regulatory compliance
- Strong track record in performance improvement and survey preparation
- Excellence in communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
