Director of Perioperative Services & Surgical Operations

Position Overview

This role carries 24/7 accountability for departmental operations and team performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead strategic planning and execution for all surgical service lines
• Drive operational excellence through quality metrics, process improvement, and best practice implementation
• Oversee clinical compliance with regulatory standards (JC, CMS, AORN)
• Manage departmental budget and resource allocation
• Develop and mentor perioperative leadership team
• Implement evidence-based practices to enhance patient safety and outcomes
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and excellence
• Build strong cross-functional relationships across the organization
• Lead quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN)
• Current RN licensure in state of practice
• Minimum 3 years perioperative leadership experience
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and accreditation standards
• Proven track record in surgical services management

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or Business Administration
• CNOR certification
• CSSM certification
• OR Nurse Manager experience
• Experience with electronic health records and surgical scheduling systems
