HIM Operations Director - Large Hospital Setting (474 Beds)

A leading healthcare facility is seeking an experienced Health Information Management (HIM) Operations Director to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you'll oversee comprehensive HIM operations while working alongside our Regional HIM Director to drive operational excellence and ensure regulatory compliance.

Position Overview

As HIM Operations Director, you'll manage day-to-day operations, implement strategic initiatives, and lead a dedicated team in maintaining the highest standards of health information management. This role offers the perfect blend of leadership, technical expertise, and operational management.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct facility-based HIM operations, including workflow optimization and staff management
• Lead implementation and maintenance of electronic health record systems (HPF/MPF)
• Oversee release of information processes and compliance
• Manage unbilled accounts resolution and physician query processes
• Implement and maintain Computer Assisted Coding (CAC) systems
• Collaborate with facility leadership and medical staff
• Drive operational efficiency through workflow automation and process improvement
• Ensure regulatory compliance and maintain quality standards

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field
• RHIA or RHIT certification
• Minimum 3 years HIM Director experience in a large hospital setting
• Proven leadership and team management skills
• Strong knowledge of healthcare compliance and regulations
• Experience with electronic health record systems
