Board-Certified Neonatologist - Level II NICU Leadership Opportunity
Join our prestigious neonatal care team at our expanding Level II NICU in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. We're seeking an experienced, board-certified Neonatologist to provide exceptional care for our tiniest patients while contributing to our academic and research initiatives.
Position Overview
As a key member of our Level 2B NICU team, you'll join a collaborative group of 4 board-certified neonatologists and a neonatal nurse practitioner in providing comprehensive care for infants born at 32 weeks' gestation or greater. Our unit handles over 1,000 deliveries and 100+ NICU admissions annually, supported by highly experienced nursing staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead strategic planning initiatives to maintain excellence in NICU patient care
- Provide direct patient care in both NICU and Newborn Nursery settings
- Manage infants requiring CPAP and ventilation support
- Implement and champion family-centered care approaches
- Contribute to clinical research and quality improvement projects
- Mentor and educate medical residents and fellows
- Participate in 24-hour shift coverage with home call opportunities
Required Qualifications
- MD, DO, or foreign equivalent degree
- Active board certification in Pediatrics and Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine
- Current or eligible for Pennsylvania medical license
- Valid DEA certification
- Proven experience in Level II NICU environments
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated commitment to team-based care delivery
Preferred Qualifications
- Academic credentials suitable for Associate Professor appointment
- Clinical research experience
- Quality improvement project leadership
