Essential Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized perioperative technical support during surgical procedures
• Maintain strict sterile technique and surgical field integrity
• Execute precise instrument handling and passing techniques
• Perform surgical counts and documentation according to facility protocols
• Collaborate with surgical team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education
• Assist in the preparation of operating rooms and surgical equipment
• Monitor and maintain sterile supplies and instrument inventory

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
• Current certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)
• Current BLS certification through American Heart Association
• Registration with VA Department of Health Professions
• Strong understanding of surgical procedures and instrumentation
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Military training in surgical technology accepted in lieu of civilian program
