Senior Certified Pharmacy Technician

Working alongside licensed pharmacists in a dynamic healthcare environment, you'll utilize your expertise in medication management, sterile compounding, and customer service to make a meaningful impact on patient care.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Perform advanced pharmaceutical preparation including non-sterile compounding and IV admixture/sterile compounding
• Manage controlled substance inventory and documentation as Narcotic Tech
• Operate specialized pharmacy technology and automation systems
• Process prescriptions and maintain accurate patient records
• Provide exceptional customer service to patients and healthcare providers
• Support OR satellite pharmacy operations as needed
• Assist in training and mentoring junior pharmacy staff

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Current registration with Virginia Department of Health Professionals
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or ExCPT) required within 9 months of hire
• Demonstrated knowledge of pharmacy operations and medication safety
• Proficiency in pharmaceutical calculations and computer systems
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling 1000+ medications
• Excellence in time management and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Completion of accredited Pharmacy Technician training program
• Previous pharmacy experience, particularly in hospital or clinical settings
• Experience with sterile compounding and USP <797> standards
• Prior experience with automated dispensing systems
