Key Responsibilities:
- Provide multi-site supervision and leadership for the Vocational Nursing Program.
- Plan, develop, manage, update, and evaluate all aspects of the program to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
- Prepare reports, proposals, self-studies, and other materials for state and Vocational Nursing Board requirements.
- Identify and secure external resources to enhance program success.
- Develop and implement program policies and procedures aligned with regulatory standards.
- Serve on and organize committees to support program operations.
- Oversee admission processes and student orientations.
- Act as a liaison between the community and the college, fostering strong industry relationships.
- Develop and maintain educational partnerships with clinical sites to support hands-on learning.
- Conduct clinical site evaluations to ensure safety, compliance, and adequate staffing.
- Maintain feedback and evaluations from students, clinical site representatives, and faculty to improve program quality.
- Ensure that all clinical contracts are current and properly maintained.
- Recruit, hire, and orient nursing faculty while supporting their professional development.
- Conduct regular faculty meetings and maintain accurate records and minutes.
- Assign and schedule faculty to courses and clinical sites for optimal instruction.
- Monitor instructional quality and participate in faculty and program evaluations.
- Provide academic advising and support for potential and current students.
- Ensure students are properly oriented to nursing skills labs and clinical facilities before rotations.
- Oversee the recruitment and admission process to attract top nursing candidates.
- Verify that all students meet graduation and licensing exam requirements.
- Plan and participate in Nursing Advisory Committee meetings.
- Stay current with professional development, including continuing education (CE) requirements.
- Maintain knowledge of state regulations relevant to Vocational Nursing practice.
Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Program Director.
- At least 3 years of experience as an RN, with at least one year in teaching, clinical supervision, or nursing administration within the last five years.
- Completion of administration, teaching, and curriculum development courses from an accredited institution.
