Assistant HIM Director - Healthcare Information Management

StoneSprings Hospital Center is seeking a dynamic Assistant Health Information Management (HIM) Director to join our leadership team. In this critical role, you'll collaborate with the Facility HIM Director to oversee operational excellence, maintain regulatory compliance, and drive process improvement in our health information systems.

Position Overview

As Assistant HIM Director, you'll play a vital role in managing our facility's health information operations, ensuring data integrity, and maintaining high-quality patient record management while supporting our medical staff and facility leadership.

Essential Responsibilities

• Partner with Facility HIM Director to oversee daily operations, including workflow optimization, budget management, and service level agreements
• Lead medical records management processes, including documentation compliance, release of information, and electronic health record (EHR) maintenance
• Manage and develop HIM staff through recruitment, training, performance evaluation, and professional development
• Drive unbilled management processes and implement solutions to reduce billing delays
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, medical staff bylaws, and hospital policies
• Provide leadership coverage during FHIMD absences with Regional HIM Director support
• Facilitate medical staff education on documentation requirements and EHR systems

Required Qualifications

• RHIA or RHIT certification required
• Bachelor's degree in Business or related field (or equivalent experience with CEO approval)
• Minimum 1 year HIM department experience (2+ years strongly preferred)
• Healthcare management experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of healthcare compliance and regulatory requirements
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities
