Trauma Program Director - Level I Trauma Center Leadership Opportunity

We're seeking an experienced and dynamic healthcare leader to serve as our Trauma Program Director (TPD) at our prestigious medical center. This key leadership position oversees our comprehensive trauma program, ensuring excellence in patient care while maintaining regulatory compliance and advancing trauma care initiatives.

Position Overview

As TPD, you'll lead our trauma program's strategic direction, quality initiatives, and daily operations while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to maintain our trauma center verification standards. This role combines clinical expertise with administrative leadership to drive excellence in trauma care delivery.

Essential Responsibilities

• Direct all operational aspects of the trauma program, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations
• Lead preparation and maintenance of American College of Surgeons (ACS) trauma center verification
• Develop and implement clinical protocols and practice management guidelines
• Oversee trauma performance improvement programs and quality initiatives
• Manage trauma registry operations and data validation processes
• Coordinate trauma education programs for staff and community outreach
• Serve as liaison between administration, clinical staff, and external stakeholders
• Direct research initiatives and outcome studies
• Lead trauma system development at community, state, and national levels

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
• Current RN licensure in Virginia
• Minimum 3 years clinical nursing leadership experience in Trauma, ED, or ICU
• Proven experience in trauma program management and survey preparation
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC
• CEN or CCRN certification (required within 2 years)
• Strong regulatory compliance background
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
