Position Overview
As Director of Surgical Services, you will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for all perioperative services, including pre-op, operating room, PACU, and sterile processing. This role carries 24/7 accountability for maintaining clinical excellence, team development, and service line growth.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for all perioperative services
- Drive clinical excellence and maintain regulatory compliance across surgical departments
- Develop and execute strategic initiatives to enhance surgical services and market growth
- Manage department budgets, resource allocation, and capital equipment planning
- Lead performance improvement initiatives and quality monitoring programs
- Foster strong physician relationships and enhance surgeon satisfaction
- Build and maintain high-performing teams through mentorship and professional development
- Ensure optimal patient experiences and outcomes through evidence-based practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve organizational objectives
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required
- Current RN licensure in state of practice
- Minimum 3 years of leadership experience in surgical services/operating room
- Demonstrated experience in perioperative services management
- Strong financial acumen and budget management skills
- Excellence in team leadership and staff development
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or Business Administration
- CNOR certification
- CSSM certification
- Experience with surgical service line growth and development
