Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Registered Nurse - Level III

Essential Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary patient advocate during cardiac surgeries, managing all aspects of perioperative care
• Maintain strict sterile technique and assist in complex cardiac procedures
• Coordinate with surgical team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Operate and monitor sophisticated surgical equipment and technology
• Perform accurate specimen handling and documentation
• Conduct thorough pre and post-operative instrument counts
• Document patient care using electronic medical records
• Serve as charge nurse and mentor to other team members
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and committee work

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) required
• Current RN license in Virginia (multi-state or single-state)
• Minimum 3 years (5,616 hours) of RN experience
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Strong knowledge of cardiac surgery procedures and protocols
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Physical ability to lift/move up to 100 lbs and stand for extended periods

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN)
• Cardiac surgery specialty certification
• Previous CVOR experience
• Leadership experience in perioperative setting
