Essential Responsibilities:

• Maintain sterile field integrity and ensure compliance with aseptic technique throughout surgical procedures
• Expertly handle and pass surgical instruments, anticipating surgeon's needs during procedures
• Perform accurate surgical counts of instruments, sponges, and needles according to hospital protocol
• Prepare and manage surgical instrumentation, equipment, and supplies for various procedures
• Collaborate with the perioperative team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives and educational activities
• Support the implementation of patient safety goals and regulatory standards

Required Qualifications:

• Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting
• Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program
• Current BLS certification through American Heart Association
• Registration with VA Department of Health Professions
• Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
