Senior Certified Pharmacy Technician
We're seeking a detail-oriented Senior Certified Pharmacy Technician II to join our healthcare team. In this role, you'll work alongside licensed pharmacists to provide exceptional pharmaceutical care and customer service while ensuring accurate medication dispensing and maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and fill prescriptions under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory and maintain pharmaceutical supplies
- Interact professionally with healthcare providers, patients, and vendors
- Perform accurate medication calculations and data entry
- Assist in training new pharmacy team members
- Handle insurance claims and billing procedures
- Maintain clean and organized pharmacy workspace
- Complete required documentation and record-keeping
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current registration with Virginia Department of Health Professionals
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification within 9 months of hire
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy operations and medications
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficient computer and mathematical skills
- Superior customer service abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
- Completion of approved Pharmacy Technician training program
- Previous pharmacy experience (1+ years)
- Experience with electronic health records systems
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and regulations
